As reported today by Bloomberg News. Single issue gun rights voters make up a vital portion of the traditional Republican base, similar to single issue anti-abortion rights voters. Crucially, both Romney and Giuliani have issues with both of these voting blocks. Even if either of these two become the Republican nominee by virtual default, they run the risk of having hordes the Republican base stay home and not vote come election day 2008. As I've said over and over again on this website, Republicans are headed for an electoral calamity in 2008.
