How pathetic. In response to the throw down John Kerry issued to Texas billionaire oilman and swift boater T. Boone Pickens, Pickens responds by basically wussing out on the challenge like the spineless jellyfish he no doubt is. Story here. It''s indicative, however, of the sorry state of affairs the national Republican party finds itself in these days. Billionaires can't even pay their bets. Looking back, the party reached its zenith during the Swift Boating charade four years ago. They won that election, but it has been a precipitous fall since then, starting with the 2006 midterms and undoubtedly will continue with the 2008 elections.
