To be sure, $900 billion is a lot of money and some of it will no doubt be wasted and misspent. But in a billion years, it can't and won't be wasted this badly.
In the above Ripper Flashback segment, I re post an article that I originally wrote two years ago describing how $12 billion of shrink wrapped bricks of American $100 bills was shipped to Iraq in the aftermath of the invasion, and promptly vanished.
It vanished after US soldiers passed their time by playing football with a few of the bricks.
Where was the Republican outcry back then? Could there be a more clear example of wasteful spending?
Personally, I'd rather have my taxpayer money wasted in the USA than in Baghdad.
