I'm not backing down from the title of my previous post (see below), but the GOP powers that be will be extraordinarily cautious with this hit, and he will get hit, it's just a matter of when.
They tried to find their very own Hillary Clinton in Sarah Palin last fall, and now they tried to find their very own Barack Obama in Michael Steele.
Only one problem with this strategy: you might want to make sure that the person--no matter what their gender or skin color might be-can actually walk and chew gum at the same time.

I think he either wants out (hence the public disclosure) or he's been convinced to spew this stance on gays and abortion to force the conservative hand. I just can't believe the GOP didn't do their due diligence on this by asking him these questions before he was hired.
