With all the recent hubbub over health care reform--with Republican protestors breathlessly crying over America's slide into 'European style Socialism', and Obama's dropping poll numbers, one might be tempted into thinking that there was a chance that no reform legislation at all would pass--that the GOP might be successful in thwarting the Obama administration's top domestic objective and America would continue having a third world, banana republic sytle health care system.If you thought that, please read this article from the New York Times describing an arcane Senate procedure that the massive Democratic majority there is threatening to use against the GOP that would virtually assure the passage of major health care reform...
So in fact the debate is over. Health care reform will happen in America. All that's left is the crying and noise that's coming from Republican obstructionists...

I spoke with a friend of mine who grew up and resided in Canada for many years of her life until she married and relocated to the States. She explained to me the health care system she had there and how good it was. However, the national health care plans Obama has scare her to death. She finds them ruthless, cold and insidious. She is right. IF this passes it is the ONLY way the left will wake up. Maybe, just MAYBE, they will finally realize they've been manipulated and deceived by one of the best used car salesmen out there who became 'President'. Once THEIR OWN LIVES are on the line, THEIR lives being counseled on accepting death, when THEY must face leaving this earth sooner than they would have had to because they will be denied care...ONLY THEN WILL THEY WAKE UP. But it will be too late. They say there is a fool born every minutes...soon the fools will be DYING every minute. Sadly, they will force the rest of us on into the rail cars to Auschwitz with them.
