As chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Commission during the 2006 and 2008 elections, he took the Dems from a being a minority in that chamber to a comfortable, filibuster proof majority--which recently ended when Scott Brown won in Massachusetts after Schumer had stepped down as head of the committee....
In short, Schumer is a total winner who doesn't say stupid, political shit...ever.
