To me the reasons why are not altogether clear, but that's not the point: Ron Paul fans are ready to lie down on a bed of nails for their man and are way more excited about their candidate than, say, Mitt Romney supporters...
Let's shoot straight here: Ron Paul stands virtually no chance to be elected this nation's next president. As in 0% But he could very well play a vital role in the race by being the party's king maker--endorsing someone towards the nomination fight's end and having his legions of rabid dog supporters vote en masse for that person.
He is the right wing's equivalent of Ralph Nader of the left back in 2000. We all know how that turned out.
