Senate Titan Robert Byrd of West Virginia Dies

At 92 years old, Byrd leaves as the most tenured member of the United States Senate in the bodies's history.

The man, put simply, was a legislative titan:  having served as a Senator for 51 years, for the American Congress, for the United States, they do not come any bigger than Senator Byrd.

An avid historian, Byrd studied the Roman Senate--and his frequent comparison's to that entity's history and eventual demise with that of America's were thought provoking and fascinating.

He was a political peer of JFK, who would have been 93 if he were still alive today.
