It's been a dirty, nasty, and extraordinarily expensive midterm election campaign. And weird too. Really weird. It's all of course a precursor to 2012, when President Obama will have a battle royale to get re-elected...especially if the economy is still in the shitter.
Alas, I digress... By far, the weirdest single contest in this macabre election cycle has been the Nevada Senate contest between wingnut tea bag darling Sharron Angle and current Senate Majority leader Harry Reid.
Let me be clear: Sharron Angle is by all accounts not only a loathsome person, but also patently unqualified to be Nevada state dog catcher, let alone United States Senator.
Due to the woeful political environment for all Democrats, and Harry Reid's role as having been Obama's point man for his domestic agenda in the Senate for the past two years....and to the mass, willful ignorance of tens of thousands of Nevadans, Angle has led for most of the race.
Alas, as this article points out. Sanity may just prevail.
Otherwise, Nevada. You deserve what you get.
